Community begins with conversation. In partnership with South Yorkshire Eating Disorders Association (SYEDA), we’re exploring why opening up age-appropriate, thoughtful discussions about bodies and wellbeing in primary schools is an important part of prevention.
Eating disorder prevention isn’t the responsibility of one sector alone. This Eating Disorders Awareness Week, we’re reflecting on why community must include collaboration - and why building classroom cultures of body respect is a vital part of prevention.
We’ve launched the Body Happy School Library Appeal to help place inclusive, confidence-building books into schools and communities. Donate a title and help expand access to stories that support belonging, empathy and body respect.
We’re inviting schools to express interest in a funded research partnership with the University of Lincoln exploring whole-school approaches to body respect. Participating schools receive fully funded access to the Body Happy Schools Programme while contributing to national evidence-building around prevention and inclusion.

The Dump the Scales Annual March takes place on 18 April 2026, bringing people together to call for stronger action on eating disorder prevention. We’re sharing this because prevention matters – and because building safer, more respectful environments for children and young people is a collective, systems-level issue.
Our new programme in Plymouth - Body Happy Communities - is built on a simple idea: the people taking part should help shape what happens. That means co-designing activities together, trying things out, and building something that reflects the interests, needs and energy of the local community.
