Every Body Shortlisted for National Book Award

We’re proud to share that Every Body - written by our founder and Executive Director Molly Forbes - has been shortlisted in the Wellbeing category of The Week Junior Book Awards 2025!

Every Body is a vibrant, inclusive book designed to help children celebrate, respect and accept ALL bodies - especially their own. It forms part of our Body Happy Schools Programme, which supports schools across the UK to build classroom cultures of body respect through CPD, curriculum resources, peer advocacy and student workshops, available from September 2025.

Published by Puffin and released almost exactly a year ago, the book introduces children and young people to ideas around appearance ideals, media literacy, holistic health behaviours and mental health in an age-appropriate, evidence-informed way. With gorgeous illustrations from artist Mollie Cronin bringing the warmth, humour and sensitivity in the words to life, this book is a fantastic introduction to the important subject of body respect for readers age 9+.

The Week Junior Book Awards have revealed their 2025 shortlist here, celebrating the best in children’s literature across a variety of categories, including wellbeing, graphic novels and hobbies. Now in it’s third year running, The Week Junior Book Awards celebrates the best of literature for young people, increasing awareness of the benefits of reading - not only for pleasure but also inspiration.

Having Every Body shortlisted in the Wellbeing category is fantastic recognition for both the book and the subject of body respect itself. This highlights the work being done to create culture change and make positive body image the norm rather than the anomaly.

Winners are announced at an awards ceremony in September, but being shortlisted is already a massive reason to celebrate!

It's time to stop criticising the way we look, and celebrate all our glorious differences!
