One Year. Big Change.

This time last year, we were a tiny team with a big idea: to create the UK’s first whole-school body respect programme - something that could truly shift the culture around body image in education.

Twelve months on, so much has changed.

Our founder, Molly Forbes, with the other FEA Innovation Award winners at the Awards ceremony in September last year

Thanks to the support of the Fair Education Alliance Innovation Award and Incubator, we’ve gone from an annual turnover of £14.5k to generating over £65k in just the first six months of this financial year. Funding isn’t everything - but if you want to build something sustainable, it really matters.

We’ve now secured partnerships that will see our work reach every school in Devon and every primary school in South Yorkshire. We’re nearly finished piloting our full Body Happy Schools Programme, which includes:

  • Staff CPD

  • Student and parent workshops

  • A youth-led peer advocacy programme

  • Full schemes of work across KS2 to KS4

  • And cross-curricular resources to embed body respect throughout the school day

We’ve also secured funding for our first fully funded PhD through the South East Network for Social Sciences, in partnership with the University of Lincoln—a major step forward in building our evidence base.

We’ve delivered to thousands of children and young people, launched new partnerships, and are getting ready for our first ever in-person team day—thanks to the generous support of York St John University. We’ve also secured a grant towards some of our core funding, generously given by The Postcode Local Trust from The People’s Postcode Lottery.

And none of this work would’ve been possible without our incredible community.

From classroom delivery to Channel swims, from London Marathons to late-night fundraising emails - every bit of this progress has been powered by the people around us: facilitators, board members, researchers, parents, teachers, and supporters who believe in our mission.

If you're one of them: thank you.

And if you’d like to support what we’re building, here’s how you can help:

  • Donate if you’re able

  • Take on a fundraising challenge

  • Share our work with your community

  • Let your child’s school know about what we do

We still have a long way to go - but for now we want to stop and take stock of what a whirlwind year it’s been. Thank you for your support. We appreciate you.
